I Found My Custom Paint Scheme

I rode downtown the 25th Anniversary of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Washington today and while roaming spotted a classic paint scheme that I really liked. It was on a KawaZuki Vulcan 800 Classic customized by Baron Custom Accessories. I could not find this bike (below) online though. It was called the Creamcycle or Creamsicle or Dreamcycle or Dreamsicle or something like that. I love the orange and white two tone! And to think just the other day I was bashing the brow/purple color scheme on the new Deluxes. What do ya'all think about this color scheme on a Deluxe? Here's a picture of the orange/white bike with my blue/white one below.

Killer...

Are you going to do the faux radiator?
As I've stated many times in the past...any decent solid color will look great against a bright flat white.:bowdwn: White accentuates the contrasts between the solid color and the gorgeous wide whites. But white is the key; purple and orange:puke: purple and white:thumbsup: orange and white:thumbsup: green and black:puke: green and white:thumbsup: black & white:thumbsup: red and grey:puke: red and white:thumbsup: grey and white:thumbsup: blue and white:thumbsup: Just pick pick any color and white and you will have a sweet looking ride:boobies:

But never -- never with a white frame like the creamsycle.
The matching rims goes too far.

Black frame -- Harley Orange w/black & gold trim and arctic white.

Come to think of it, yer right! Maybe not pink or dayglo yellow but most solid colors jump out against white. I went into Photoshop and did a color replacement of my Chopper Blue for orange on my bike. Maybe this is what it might look like (below). Now I gotta try California Kid flames against Vivid Black. Hey, Cali flames on balck, I think just made up a brand new look for H-Ds! I bet that would look good! I gotta tell somebody.

Amen and good point...the key is restraint when thinking that adding more and more of a good thing is alway better...not so!:bleh:
Outline that orange with a black pin stripe and then a thin gold pin stripe inside from the black and it really sets off the orange.

LUX,

Nice job:thumbsup: ...try swithing the orange and white around on the tank and repost. I think it looks better with the solid color on top of the tank.

While your at could you do a brother a favor and post one with bright red and a nice bright baby blue?:D

Thanks

Agreed the white frame looks cheap. But I am liking the trick rims. There is a similar bike, an '05 Deluxe on Bassani Pipes with a 3/4" metal grind instead of a pinstripe between the orange and white, that looked sweet.

Creamsicle orange & white on a Deluxe? You bet! Try orange rims with blackwalls and narrow whitewalls, as well as wide whitwalls. Painted rims can look good in some cases.
orange & white

Here's a suggestion, use an off white or creme/ivory color instead of bright white or a "ice "white (a white with cool tones). Use a white with a "warm" tone. I don't know if it will show in the pics, but I've used this color combo on a pair of 1947 Schwinns I restored 8 or 9 years ago. Obviously not used by schwinn as an original color but the off white color looks "retro". I used a maroon color for the pinstriping instead of black, which softens the contrast slightly (as opposed to black). A buddy of mine here in So Cal is also considering this theme for his Deluxe. His bike doesn't have as much retro feel as yours as he has V&H straight shots and NO cool old school bags on it.
I've also used burnished 24k gold leaf as a separation between the orange and creme. It really adds some flair and richness to the scheme. Just something to ponder....

I agree with the suggestion to change the color scheme around to where the white is on the side of the tank. I would also recommend doing something to the saddle bags.
I like painted wheels, but can't say I really like the over all look. JMO
