I recently bought a new VMAX.
Wanted one for years but every time I was in the market for a bike, I could not find a new one since they are in limited supply around here.

Found some used ones with high mileage, but they are usually run pretty hard so I was afraid of them.

Anyway, I have one now, it's fast smooth and fun to ride and does well at two up also.

Wanted to start this thread because 'm having trouble finding aftermarket stuff here. Seems to be a lot of stuff in the UK.

Finally got the sport shield and finally found some saddlebag supports on EBAY.

Still looking for engine guards and Sissy bar with pad.

I was just reading about the V-Max last night. Here is the article: http://motorcyclecruiser.com/roadtests/supercruisers/

It appears that the only complaint some folk have is with the rigidity of the frame, however there are aftermarket products that address that.

I think it is awesome that a 20 year old design still dominates! They got it right the first time.

Congratulations on your new ride!

Now ride safe!

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this bike. When they first appeared the back tire they used looked huge!

My hesitation in making the purchase was not related to any performance issues with the bike. I had just come off of two totally bizarre mechanical problems with a Gold Wing and a CBX and I was bummed over import bikes.

By buying another Harley I felt I was going back to a safe haven.

I recently saw a new V-Max. I was astride my new Dyna, and in comparison, the Yamaha looked smaller than I remembered. Granted, the moment or era I would have bought a V-Max were a special part of my history. I just linger on the idea as an opportunity lost in time.

I wish I would have bought one.
