I haven't tried the Hogworkz bulb but I have tried several LED type, H4 bulbs from eBay to $60 from Headwinds, and have decided that the basic construction of any LED H4 bulb (flat chip LED's) just isn't compatible with a lens that was made for 360 degree light emission from the source bulb (halogen). My experience has been opposite yours--on low beam, the LED bulbs offer some improvement while sitting/riding level, but high beams are just more light in the low beam pattern. And then while leaning through a turn, the LED light pattern seems to lift off of the road and not illuminate where the rider needs it most. Bottom line is that the H4 LED bulbs produce a lot of light that a halogen-intended lens can't properly direct.

At the price, is it worth messing around with these replacement style bulbs when they pretty much unversally don't work?

https://www.amazon.com/Projector-Headlight-Davidson-Motorcycles-Headlamp/dp/B019ETNZD6/ $90 will get you the pair.
This link is for a 5 3/4 inch modular complete LED headlight assembly. I have only tried one of these and it was very similar to, but not exactly like this one. Bottom line was very similar to the LED H4 bulb in the OEM lens, in that the low beam was nice as long as the rider was traveling straight and level, and the high beam was really just a brighter low beam field. There are dozens of different versions of this headlight on eBay, most under $100. Maybe among them is a good one.

There are also very expensive LED headlight assemblies from say, JW Speaker that some claim are great. Me, I haven't tried them due to cost. There are also LED H4 bulb and matching 5 3/4 lens kits that are also in the upper $300 range that are supposed to be good. Again, I haven't tried them, either for the same reason. I don't much ride at night anymore, so if I can't be sure of significant improvement, I can't justify the cost. YMMV, as they say.
