History of a Harley mechanic - posted by a guy on another forum

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

u'll have more work than u can handle, on the job and off...

u have several options, work for a dealer, work for an indy shop, work for a municapality on their police bike fleet, etc etc...

now to the other thing bout bein a wrench, it's EXPENSIVE !!!!

it's one of the only jobs that cost you an enormous amount to be and the cost never ends....

it'll take a toll on u'r entire body, years later u'll be in pain everywhere and have to give those 10's of thousands of dollars worth of "out of date" tools to someone cause u can't use the few fingers u have left anymore...

your eye sight will leave u at an early age due to having to be drilled in too many times in order to get metal fragments and weld slag out of them...

your hearing will be gone too, after years of the loud noises of impacts, dyno's, backfires, dragpipes etc etc...

u'll lose most of u'r teeth cause u'll forget not to open u'r mouth while smilin ridin down the road and the bettles will knock them out...

your leg, the one u lost, will still itch for years...

your wife will leave u ( the 3rd one, the other 2 also left ) because u'r too busy to spend any time with her...

your dog will mistakingly bite you in the middle of the night, cause u left him chained out by the bike to protect it and u went sneaking around cause u thought u heard someone messin with it...

other than that it's a greatttt career !!!!
