Hi Sidekick, I'm not Hippo but I'm sure Frank won't mind. There is a gass filter inside the tank attached to the sending unit that the MOCO maintenance schedule says to replace, I think it's at 25K miles (too lazy to go look).
My 02 FLT has both a fuel filter and a fuel pump inlet screen. I would only fool with these if I was getting low pressure symptoms such as cut outs or hesitation. Then easier to check the pressure with the gauge on the external fuel line. i.e under 380 on the gauge I would then check for restrictions in the screen or filter. But not without first having a problem.
Forgot to say before you do anyhting with the fuel on these EFI bikes purge the pressure. This easiest to do by removing the fuel pump fuse, then start the engine and let it run til it stalls. Beats getting a shot of gas in the eyes when you ain't wearing that eye protection.
