I have an 02 fatboy with 6600 miles on it . I was surprised to find that the brake pads are already worn out , mainly the rear. I have spoken to a friend that has experianced the same thing. Seems that the stock pads don't last that long (about 7000 miles for rear).

Does anyone know of or recommend better pads then the original ones? Hopefully ones that work just as well but last longer.

Lyndall Racing Brakes ........cut down on brake dust,stop ALOT better and are quieter. About $48 if you shop around (for the "gold" pads)

Have you tried these pads? Is the difference realy that noticable?

I had the same problem with my Softail Custom stock pads. Not to mention the horrible squeal they made. I listened to TEXXEN and put on a set of Gold Lyndall's. All the things they say on their web page,I have found to be right on. Stop fantastic,very little brake dust, QUIET !!!,and haven't faded on me me once.After 2500 miles I can say I'll never buy another brand.

This is enough to convince me to try them out. I will be picking some up soon.
They are a bit expensive but I don't mind spending a little extra money on something that your life is ridding on.
