Question for the group: Does anyone have any experience with the new high intensity headlamp bulbs. H-DMoCo has it on their website for $35 with no real description as to why it is 4-5 times higher priced than a normal headlamp replacement bulb. I know it's a bluer light but is it brighter and does the beam throw farther out? Would love to have more light while driving at night but would like to be able justify the extra cost.

Change your headlight bulb.
NAPA, the automotive parts chain, sells a "Xenon BriteLite" made by Wagner Lighting. The stock number is BP1260/H4BL - At night you really notice the difference!

Headlight Problems/Fried Sockets.
Go to Radio Shack and pick up a spray can of Contact Cleaner and a tube of Dielectric Grease.
Clean the bulb spades with wire brush or pencil eraser, then spray Contact Cleaner on them, and into the sockets. Plug the bulb in and remove it several times to clean the connections. Apply the Dielectric Grease generously to the spades, and into the sockets. This will provide a good thermal path so that any heat generated will flow away from the point of origin and dissipate harmlessly along the wires. When using solderless connectors find the right diameter shrink-fit which will slip over the connector squirt some Ox-Gard into one end of the connector, insert the stripped wire and crimp it hard. After doing the other end, slide the shrink-fit down over the connector and heatshrink it

Paid about $11 for brighter one for my 2002 Road King - Wagner 6024. And they had even brighter(blue white?) on shelf.
