Hi all, I'm Hiro from Japan. I’ve been riding my 1988 FLST for 12 years.
I owned 1964 Duo-Glide for few years in the past.
I liked the Duo-Glide but I love my FLST very much now.
I did various changes in 12 years...handlebar, pipes, seat, fenders....
I am enjoying two styles with this bike now.
it's Stock-look and Bobber-look. Usually i ride bike with short fenders
(front:WCC's 6" Diablo, rear:Milwaukee Iron's short Slim Jim w/3"skirt)
and small KR style seat.
When going to travel, change both fender to the stock and large solo saddle. also install the windshield and saddlebags.
I like retro-look. I always searching unique, nostalgic, exotic
and functional custom parts....
anyway....just say hi to you all!
Hiro

Welcome and enjoy. I also have a 03 FLSTCI but I do like the look of the duo glide. It's where the heritage came from.

Welcome to the forum, Hiro

When I clicked on the pic of your bike, I felt the compulsion to dance with my monitor....now I am looking for some paper towels to clean off the screen.

I really like that retro look your scoot has.

You' ll like this forum because the folks here have that same Passion for their bikes as you do.

Thanks for joining up. Show us more pics and post up some stuff. Glad to meet ya.

Hiro, welcome to the forum! I lived in Japan for 10 years '82 to '92 when I was working for Grumman Aircraft. First in Tachikawa and last up in Misawa. I rode my 70 Shovel all over your beautiful country, and had a blast. The company sent me to language school, and I got pretty good, even learned Katakana and Hiragana, but Kanji is another story! I could recognize some, but learning it was going to be more than I had time for. At that time, there were not too many Harley's in Japan, and I always drew a crowd wherever I went. Parts were a problem too, LOL When I got ready to leave to go back to the states, I was offered 100 times what it was worth.
Enjoy the ride and take care. Please post on your adventures in Nihon!

The jokey kit, tell me more. I really like the look of the old jockey shift (on a bike) no reference intended to V-TwinForum's Member named JOCKEY SHIFT

i bought jockey kit from LaBriola Machine. Kit available for all models including Softail, Dyna, FLT and Sporty. Their kit is nice set-up.

I gave up Jocky shift/suicide clutch. but I imported several kit from LaBriola
machine for friends bikes. you can check their web site;
http://www.lajockeyshifter.com

cheers

Thanks for the link. But I would prefer a stock 1940s look to a tank shifter

we usually used labriola kit for jocky shift or tank shift for late models.
only use labriola's foot clutch section and v-twin/tedd cycle's police shifter or
custom made shifter lever.

Ouch! :yikes: I've been riding jockey since '88 and have had no mishaps so far. (hitting head saying "Knock on Wood")

Thanks for the comments.

シートマウントkitを加工し違和感ないポジションにおさまるバディ。革質も使い込んでいく事を考えるとそう悪くない。むしろ私は好きである。座り心地は極楽級。

That seat is way retro I like that.
