Where in my profile can I enter what bike I have so it comes up in the post.
i just picked up my New to me 2008 FXD Superglide, quite a ride with 30mph winds or something like that driving home at freeway speeds. Gonna change the oil, filters, polish it up and get on the road. It's supposed to be nice here Sunday.

Finally got time to tell my story, and bore you all in the process.

Had been out of Cycles for a while, 20yrs, had a 1973 Yamaha 185 as a teen. An '83 Honda VT500 Ascot then working in my Mid 20's, it Reminded me of Evil's XL750 Jumping Bike. Then an '84 Honda CB750 Nighthawk for a couple years 'till work, marriage, etc combined to "do the practical thing" and sell. So last year I broke out and Bought a Honda (argh) VT1100 shadow on a Wing and prayer. Was great to be riding again, what a pick me up (stress relief) to ride home from work on a sweet day. But had the once in a lifetime chance to Visit Europe for a Month. So since I stretched to buy it, I sold it before fall so I could enjoy my trip and the Boss would have safety funds.

So now this year things been looking a lot better, I wanted to do it right. I did look at some others, Victory's seem like nice American cruisers. But came across this sweet '08 Superglide, though it was a stretch, nothing could match the value and I would have a scooter for the long run. My Shadow had drive shaft jacking on throttle, required lots of throttle on take off (maybe needed some clutch work) and was in no way a highway bike (needed a 6th gear).
So glad to get a practically new bike, 7300 miles with a belt instead of shaft, 6-speed. I got it all over last year, ride, motor, gearing, belt, quality, in a sweet FXD machine. my only bummage is the early summer has changed back to spring and riding weather has disappeared since I picked it up. Lookin' FWD though.
Ride Hard or Stay on the Porch.
