I am going to install the recently talked about oil temp gauge, in the fairing. I've been lame, and haven't picked up my service manual yet, so I am here asking for advice...

Are there any things I need to be aware of, or things I "shouldn't" do?

Is it a one person job?

I have read the other related posts regarding the oil gauge, but wanted help removing the fairing.

Thanks in advance...

Mitch

Take the windscreen off. Take the Torx screws off from the inner fairing side, there are a couple hidden ones where you have to turn the bars to first one side and then the other to get at them.

Sort of lift or tilt the fairing a bit and pull the connector off the headlite.

The thing just lifts off with headlite and everything, contrary to what you may think it will not pull off, you sort of have to lift it and it just pops off.

It takes some force, but very gentle force, you do not want to break it where it engages the radio bracket.

Hippo, once again -- THANK You

Hippo,
Thanks. I going to go do it now. Sounds fairly simple...

Thanks again,
Mitch
