I'm having trouble rebuilding my front forks ('81 35mm Showa forks)
I can't remove the very bottom bolt that threads into the internal damper tube. The damper tube turns inside both forks when I try to loosen the bolts. Anybody know how to stop the insides from turning?

Now you got a problem. The way to get those bolts out is to hit them with a fast air wrench when they are still tight. You can probably still get them out that way, and if not you can try tightening them again (with the air wrench) and then removing them, and if you have to play with them back and forth.

If you don't have one take the Allen socket and the tubes to any little auto or bike shop and have the guy use his air gun, usually all it takes is a six pack.

Thanks Hippo, my electric impact wrench zipped those bolts out like nuthin'. May good fortune come to you and yours on the road. Stay ITW.
