I just finished building my 883 with a 1200 kit 10:1 cams and polished heads. My question is I have a wicked pinging at take of and low speed high gear roll ons. The culprit I'm guessing is the slow jet, can anyone tell me what size you guys use making around 80hp with a lumpy cam? Thanks...

I found my fix, adjusting the VOES stopped my take off pinging and allowed me to run higher timing than I was, along with the 180 jet it really takes off at wot. thanks

re:sporty

You can be experiencing detonation. It is a by product of too high compression, usually cams will help with this a little since they tend to lower your compression ratio a bit. With the high compression and your ignition advancing way too fast for the load ( Aftermarket ignition I presume ) and engine rpm, your engine will knock at low rpm under load.
Retard your timing and If equiped w/ voes, test for proper operation....

Good luck
