Hello all. Bent up my original headlight in a.....ehhhemmm...little accident. Anyway, bought a new headlight from custom chrome for roughly 50 bucks because HD dealer wanted 170 for theirs. My question is the new light seems to only have one possitive lead but has a high and a low beam fillament in the bulb. Has anyone run into this problem the harley harness has a white, yellow and black wire. the after market light has only a white and blue wire. Someone told me it might be a self grounding unit and to hook up the yellow and white wires and cap the ground. Help. I wired both the yellow and white to the one white lead now i'm on high beam all the time. Cheers,

The white and yellow are hi/lo (not necessarily in that order) with the black being ground.
Your new light is case grounded, but it is a very wise idea to run the black and tie it to the new light case by wire lug, because a friction ground usually doesn't last very long once the metal starts oxidizing.
