I was reading up on installing the new chrome lower forks I got and the book says I need tool HD-34634 to install the oil seals. 1st do I need this tool? 2nd where can I find it. I put the number in at the Harley Davidson and Chicago Harley websites and nothing came up.

Thanks

Some of the aftermarket suppliers will have it, ie, Custom Chrome, Drag Specialities. Jims also has it. You can make your own out of PVC pipe.

All you need is something that will slide over the fork tube and is smaller in diameter than the slider. This will ensure that you dont damage the metal washer in the seal itself. i made my own out of pvc and have used it lots of times.

You don't need it. I change sliders without pulling the fork tubes out of the triple tree. You can usually push the seals back down with your fingers. You can use the eraser end of a couple of pencils to seat them all the way if they give you a little trouble.
