As some of you may know, I recently started sending out birthday greetings to all members if you entered a birthdate in your profile.

I received this email from a member's spouse today. Thought I would share this one with you all. Although this has been a few months ago, would have never known had it not been for the birthday greeting. Please be safe out there -dp-

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear friends,
Thank you for thinking of David on his birthday. On a perfect riding day,
Feb. 17th, David was out driving his Harley and a woman who was driving her
car on the wrong side of the road hit David head on. He was killed in the
accident. His love for the motorcycle and riding lives on in my memories. I
think of him every time I see all of you out there riding. I miss him and
miss riding with him. God has completed him now and David is with Him in
Heaven. I am telling you all of this to say this, "Life is a gift from God,
don't waste one minute of it, treasure your time together with family and
friends, and remember what is important in life".

Enjoy the ride,
Teresa Wilson

Very unfortunate, however it was nice that the greeting was received by a loved one and was'nt sent out for nought.

I consider myself a fairly cold blooded SOB, but that got to me. Once again, it's not so much OUR driving, it's the other guy. Watch 'em. Mrs. Wilson, should you read these forums, please accept my condolences.

Dave if it makes ya feel any better, big bad Jimmy got a lump in his throat on reading her kind words.

I cam back and did a search on this guy and he had made 8 posts here. All tech stuff, he loved his Harley.

The words from his wife clearly show he was a good man blessed with a good woman.

Rest In Peace BigFig.

What's scary is that at any given moment, it could be one of us. You never know.

Not scary at all Dave. It is part of the risk we all have chosen to take and we are all aware of it.

I got the crap knocked out of me on mine and cannot wait to get back on her.

This woman made a testimony of the man in a few words. Scary is leaving behind no one, that would have such kind memories of you.

Speaking for myself, if I HAVE to go, let it be on my bike.
To be truly honest to my biker friends here, I would not want to go out on the bike unless the event would leave me disabled in a matter that somebody would be responsible for my routine needs. I'd much rather go out doing the other thing I like best, with a big old smile on my glazed face!:D

David, In the Arms of the Angels, fly away.

Theresa, you are so right about not taking for granted the ones we love, as the James Taylor song goes.. " I always thought that I'd see you one more time again." Thank you for taking the time to write back.

In blink of an eye one day they' re here and the next day they're gone.

Personally I'd like to go like my grandfather, in his sleep, not like the 6 people screaming in the back of his car.

PS. Thanx DPrice.

i always wanted to be in the wind to the end, but it's still sad to see one of us go due to someone's stupidity or inattentiveness while driving their cage. RIP bro, sounds like you had a good woman.

Sorry to hear of the loss. Live for today, for tomorrow we may die! I hope he didn't have any regrets. He obviously had a very good woman and my heart goes out to her. Losing someone special is never easy, but knowing that there is another place of peace gives one hope and makes the loss easier to accept. She'll see him again and I am sure of that.
RIP lost brother. We'll see you on the other side. J.T.

Amen, brother. And what a party we'll have when we get there.
