I was at the local H-D yesterday and saw my first 03 black/silver
Deuce. What the heck is with the color scheme? Front fender is silver
with black insert, tank is black on the bottom, silver on the top, and
the rear fender is silver with black insert. It looks weird.. To be uniform
you'd think since the the tank is black on the bottom half and silver on
the top, the rear fender would be black with Silver insert and so on..
Goto HD website and you'll see what I mean. All the other models that
are offered in black/silver look like they should. The Deuce just looks
off.. The guys in the service department were trippin' off this too.

And once you've noticed it, it really looks strange. Hmm..

Also, someone is trying to sell a 2003 SE Road King on Ebay right now.
Buy it now feature is at $34,500! Wow! I guess this guy is hoping
these models will be extremely hard to get!

I'm not too jazzed about the SE paint schemes either.. nickp.

Saw one of the SE Road Kings at the Rapid City expo center. Had a $29,000 + price tag on it. The dealer rep was giving his big explanation that you couldn't build one up like it for that money.

Someone call me out, but the SE bikes I've seen on the dyno were out performed by similar 1550 build ups. I understand why, but it sure kills the sales pitch.

Calvin3: Yes it was.. But maybe to some it looks normal. Take a look
at the difference between a silver/black deuce or sporty vs. the fatboy or
heritage. The three pieces of sheet metal on the deuce and sporty look
odd, and on the fatboy and heritage they are in uniform. Black on bottom,
silver on top. Its weird. Maybe I'm just trippin, but it seemed odd looking
from the minute I looked at it.

I saw that deuce at your dealer today.. What a F-up.. The service manager said the factory was being a bit difficult about it..
God forbid the messed up and shipped it without a molding.. They were also telling me about some crazy new rules for all the badging and such.. If stolen a police report necessary to order new emblems.. If damaged, the dealer must send the emblems back first, before HD will release the new ones..
If that was my deuce that came in like that (without badges) I would
leave them off and wouldn't have said sh!t to the factory. Maybe you'd
have a collector item! Just kiddin, but ya never know. Or actually, I'm suprised the dealership didn't put it on the floor, mark it up 5K and say
its a limited edition!

FLHP;

If that road king was the 2003 screaming eagle road king it has a factory 103inch stroker. Some of the lower dyno results are a result of the factory 1550 has stock pipes, air cleaner/filter, 203 cams(trainer cams as Hippo puts it), and no head work. The screaming eagle bikes are somewhat limited in 2000 there were 1550 made, 2001 about 1650 made, 2002 about 2400 made (all 95inch), and for 2003 about 3200 will be made(for 2003 they are making more of everything), they are also making a 95inch duece for 2003 also about 3200 of them. I am curious to see what people will be willing to spend for the 2003 103.
