Just got my first bike and was wondering if anyone had any good sources for gear - boots especially. I tried the HD page, but was looking for more of a selection.

I bought leather coats and chaps at local flea market for my wife and me. Paid about $200 for jacket and it's as thick as any that H-D sales for $350+. Chaps cost us $100 each where H-D wants $150+.

Now I did buy some H-D boots but have some hiking boots - Merrill Rangers - that are just as good as the H-D. I paid $120 for them over 6 years ago and actually find them more comfortable than the H-D boots. They just make my feet look like Frankenstein's.

Thanks for posting that question!
Boismier & Unome posted some good links. I'm trying to buy all my extras other than the dealer. Maybe that's why they don't like me. HA!
The extras I want to buy I can install myself except for one and I've already met a guy (a performance shop) that will help me with it. Good luck finding your boots. You remmeber that commercial that said, "these boots are made for walkin"? HA!

Your local army/navy surplus store should have a good selection of boots. My wife got a pair of harley boots for $76 at our surplus store. The same exact pair at the HD dealership was $120.
