Gear Cam Drive TOOLS??

998 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  dc3plt
Hey All:crying:

My bud and I are going nuts trying to decide what SPECIAL tools are needed for the chain to gear drive in the TC88.

If we could get a list of the tools needed from all the experienced here it would help us to not waste any more $$$$$ than we have to.

Thanks in advance for ALL your responses:D

Camshaft remove/install kit

Inner cam bearing remove/install kit

crank sprocket lock

You can use a couple of 2 inch nails and an adjustable wrench to unload and lock the chain tensioners.

Arbor or hydraulic press.
You will need a set of oil pump/lifter block tools for centering the oil pump also.
and don't forget a QUAILTY tourque wrench.!!!!!!

Inch pounds and foot pounds.

I would also recommend a HD shop manual !!!! It'll tell you all the tools you will need to do the job..............
George's garage - Is that HDWRENCH's business?? I have gotten alot of good advice from him and would feel confident buying the tools from him.

No, Georges garage is a site sponsor that sell tools only, HDWRENCH can rent them to you if you like, he is also a site sponor(GMR Performance)......both are great to deal with
I see. I'll email HD and see what's involved. I would much prefer this way. I only have to do 2 bikes. We could resell the tools on Ebay but I'll still lose some $$$$.

I love this site ~!Awesome! ~!Awesome! :thanks:
