2002 EFI Deuce with a little over 1000 miles on it.
I've had the bike spill gasoline right after I've filled it up at the gas station. Not sure exactly what's causing it, thought you guys might know.
How it happens. Almost empty tank, fill it up at a rate that takes about two minutes to put in 3 gallons. I stop before the gasoline gets to the bottom of the recessed plate within the filler neck. Hang up the nozzle and screw on the gas cap. 45-60 seconds go by while I put receipt in pocket, put on gloves and helmet. I then sit on bike, sit it upright off of the side-stand and turn the ignition on, run/stop switch is off so no fuel pump action. It's at this point that I notice a gasoline puddle directly below the oil tank area. I switch off the ignition and push the bike forward away from puddle. (I'd guess a half-cup or so spilled out.) From this point, I can't get any more gas to leak out. I turn on ignition and run/stop to on, fuel pump runs, start engine, and no other sign of a gas leak. This has happened to me twice. I'll pay more attention next time, but for now, got any clues?
