I bought a couple of saddlebags that i'm gonna do HOK Black Pearl w/ Brandywine Kandy over it. The bags are 2 tone maroon over cream but they have pin stiping tape on them. What's the best way to strip the striping, ya know it always comes back to haunt ya. Take em down with some 220 grit or Aircraft stripper. They seem to be under the clear!! Thanks - Kurt

220 is a little harsh to remove the strip . I use 320 dry on the DA sander feather everything out, can also be done blocked by hand with 320 dry or 400 wet . Prime and seal accordingly , base then intercoat -do your tape outs clear with HS clear.

I have just tried the 2500 to 3000 DA paper - after the 3000 u dont need an agressive compound just a light hit with Mequiars mirror glaze #9 and then #7. comes out like glass with no dieback.
