Here's a tip that may help someone else.
Have an '01 FXDX with 6,000 miles. On three or four occasions I experienced fuel starvation. Loss of power, pop back through the intake. It would last a few minutes then clear up. Didn't make any difference the lever of fuel in the tank or temp. Never completely died, but there were a few anxious moments.
I checked the screen in the tank, float level, needle valve, etc. & couldn't find anything & it continued.
Finally replaced the OE vacuum-operated fuel supply valve (that's pet-cock to any Brits out there!) & the problem seems to be cleared up. Couldn't see any thing wrong with it or the vacuum line. But the new one is a straight on/off valve without the vacuum line.
