Fuel smell--'04 Softail Standard

I smell gas after I turn my bike off and it sits in the garage for a while. I have checked the carb and all hoses and no leaks. Makes no diff how much gas is in the tank. I never turn the fuel valve off--this smell just started happening.

Your engine could be running rich, which could cause the smell. My guess, however, would be you have a small leak in a gas line somewhere. I would suggest washing the bike, including the engine to the point where it doesn't smell anymore. Then ride it for a while. When done, the smell should be localized to the point of origin.
