Has anyone paid any attention to the hole pattern on the front disk (or back disk)? I was looking at one of the pictures on my website and it suddenly hit me that the hole pattern makes no sense at all and it looks like some guy just drilled holes where he felt like it. If I remember correctly, my previous bikes - as well as other bikes I've looked at - have some type of pattern like a forward slash or a just a lot of holes that are evenly spaced. Take a look at this link and see if you can make any sense out of it...

Not sure what's wrong with the link. I tested it and it didn't work on my end. If needed, just go to my V-Rod web site and clike on the Accessory link and then on the Sport Front Fender.

My guess would be that a basic pattern of some holes is put in and the others are added to each disk individually to balance it. Probably done dynamically and in an automated balancing/drilling fixture. Sort of like how you add weights to a car wheel/tire only the opposite approach.
