Well, I got my new XBones home about 3 weeks ago and DAMN....what a sweet ride! I've enjoyed every moment on it. While its been great I've noticed a few things. 1st, there is a whistling sound coming from what I believe is the gas tank. Sounds like ringing in the ears. I can hear it at idle. Fuel pump? Guess I need louder pipes! 2nd, if I take my hands off the bar, I find that I have to lean left to keep it tracking straight. 3rd, when I roll on from a stop I get an occasional hesitation to accelerate even though I'm giving the same twist.

Ideas/Suggestions?

Thanks

Kobwo

Get an air cleaner, pipes, some fuel management and a dyno tune. The whisling might just be the way your intake is sucking in air. Listen close and see if it's coming from the intake. As far as tracking to the left "KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE BARS FOR CHRITS SAKES" seriously though you can check out the alignment if it's very bad but because of the way weight is distributed on the bikes I understand some do tend to drift. The early v-rods from what I understand had a killer drift to the right cuz of the 50 pound exhaust on the right. Not sure if the x bones has a problem like that though. Acceleration break the thing in a bit but maybe it has to do with how you're letting the clutch out while rollin on the throttle? But if it is a problem with a tune the the AC Pipe and fuel managemet with a tune will fix that.

It is a neck bearing adjustment that you need. The rocker bearings really do not go out of wack. It probably is the fuel pump you hear, but it is only a guess, it is very hard to diagnose things over the net.
