Some people complain that they aren't complicated enough (ABS, smoother trannies, etc.)
They must appeal to a bunch of us though!
I wonder if some rider back around 1918 asked that same question when gearboxes and chain drive came on the scene. Or how about the complexities of swing arms and hydraulic forks or of electric starters and so forth in the 50s and 60s. They were more complicated than what proceeded them. Bikes continue to evolve in complexity and Harley Davidson is no exception.
I don't know about most other folks, but the thing I have always liked the most about Harleys is simplicity, something I can wrench on anywhere if needed. If thats going byebye, might as well be a metric bike. that is why I won't be "upgrading" anytime soon.

But that is exactly what they called them back then! And we remembered it that way. Only the government used acronyms then, nowadays, it's marketing to "invent" them.

OH yea.

I like the "Clunk" I hear when I shift the gears on my HD.
progress

yeah, the world has gone to hell since the invention of indoor plumbing. All these new fangled inventions are turning our children into hooligans. Get 'em back into the barn, I say.
