How effective are these on an EG...where does it keep the wind from hitting?

They do make a bit of a difference. I like them in the cooler/cold weather and rain. I take them off in the spring and summer.
same here winter days only.....i dont notice too much of a difference as i dont have lowers.....with the lowers on and the deflectors you will notice a bigger difference...they are really cheap so buy them any try them...if you doint like sell to a buddy......
I don't have lowers either, and won't. Are you saying they're not effective unless used WITH lowers? Also, where do they keep wind from hitting exactly?

I run them and they keep the wind off my knees. I dont have lowers.
not much difference IMHO

I ride a glide with and a glide without lowers. Recently I did a fly and ride (3000 miles)on an Ultra with the extensions (lexan ones.). I honestly did not notice any difference on the rental Ultra from my bike with lowers. I rode in a lot of rain. That's when I usually notice the difference on the bike with and without the lowers.

Maybe the extensions have some benefit but I sure couldn't tell you that I could tell what it was.
They cut down on the wind hitting you in the mid section, also. Help a lot in the bitter cold!
I put the extensions on in late October and take them off in April. Ditto what was said above, I notice a slight difference in the amount of cold air coming up and hitting me under the arms and in the chest. Seems a little warmer with them on, but it's hard to tell a big difference.
