Could not locate this topic using the search, so hopefully you fellow riders can help me out. Lately have been experiencing engine run-on after hitting the engine cut-off switch. The motor makes a couple of revolutions before finally shutting off, fires at least once or twice. What would cause this, dirty plugs/carbon build-up? As for myself, I think it is related to the throttle cable adjustment, but not too sure. Just wanted your opnions. Thanks,

Scott

What grade of gasoline you using?

I switched to the regular grade of gasoline back in the summer and the amount of knocking after shutting the engine off increased. So I went back to using premium gas and the problem has all but been eliminated. It still happens every so often but not nearly as much. It also seems to happens more when the weather is very warm.

I don't know if this is coincidence or not but it worked for me.

Bike shut off fine after driving to and from work today. BTW I did have to fill it up with gas this morning. Coincidence? I do not have a timing light, guess I'll have to get one to check things like this.
