E-Glide Voltage & Air Temp Gauges Question

2182 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  08' FLHX N WV
My ride is a 96 E-Glide Classic. Two questions:

1. I noticed recently that my voltage gauge needle sticks on occasion. I know it's not a loose wire cause I checked that when it first happened. The last two times it happened, I gave the glass a little tap with my finger and the needle rose from 0 to it's normal operating position. Anyone else had this problem?

2. Anyone know where the sensor is for the air temp gauge? The thing is notoriously inaccurate and it's useless the way it is. If I knew where the sensor was, I might try relocating it.

So which is it boy's, the little white box or a wire coming out of it? If I relocate the box and find out I could have simply extended a wire I'm going to feel like a jackass. The service manual makes no mention of a sensor wire, only a sensor. I'm headed out to check it out for myself. Extending a wire doesn't seem to add up as it still has to pass through the warmer area within the fairing elevating the displayed temp. Thanks and I'll let you know what I find out.
