Do You Take Advantage of Sales?

A lot of the dealers in a 50 mile radius of me have had sales on parts/accessories and clothes.
One dealer has a 30% off Black Friday sale on anything except engines/trans, even if they have to order it. I was there when they opened...they had 7 lines at parts which had at least 20+ people in each line and it was still like that 3 hours later.
Another dealer closer to me had 30% off on anything in stock.
Starting last week a couple are having 12 days of Christmas sales...something different everyday - Men's leather was 40% off - I got a jacket & gloves.
Today i had to go by one that had a $10 off coupon on anything over $25 on their e-newsletter + they were having 15% off...i bought $32+tax worth for less than $20

Our 4 dealers SUCK!

They do very little compared to alot of others.
10% is big for them.
I've asked for 20% on $500 and up purchases and have been turned down.
Had one dealer hang up.
I steer clear of the stealers at all costs...and it costs me a great deal less!!!

You should have told them about all the wonderful online HD discount dealers that will be happy to take care of you instead. Touche!
I have bought a few items from Zanotti's online and saved a lot even with the shipping than I would have buying from the local dealership
The only money I spend at the stealer is for minor orings and little stuff I forget to order from Benjy's or Zanotti. Here in North Texas, they are a bunch of arrogant a**holes.
as a rule I don't buy clothing online, so do watch for clothing sales at HD shops. Sizing varies too much between manufacturers, and even some differences in the same line since stuff is hand sewn. I'll only buy clothing if I can try on something, but not HD's outlandishly priced jackets and chaps. More like gloves and smaller stuff like that.
I pick up most of my stuff at the l local dealers sales, just picked my new heads from Zanotti's however , there prices beat everyones. $602 shipped for SE performance heads
I get big stuff at the stealers when they have their 20% of sales it's in NH so there is no tax  . Other then that I stay away and buy online. I do like to buy some stuff from my local Harley Authorized repair shop as he has a dyno and has always been good to me.

I got 24k on it and the only service ever done at the dealer was the 1st/2nd...after pricing parts around the area (I like to spend locally) I've found nearly everything is a bargain elsewhere...(I've gone there and bought a couple of small items with a coupon:whisper: ) 'course I did buy the bike there...
Sales take advantage of me...LOL. I brought my buddies RK in to get it appraised to sell.....dealer had an introductory sale on the 2 wheel tunes. My favor cost me $400. But it was worth it.
(PS-anyone interested in a 02 Police RK?)
I do when it's convenient, Like today I was there and they had a 15% off gift cetificates. So I bought a 25 one to use later on oil and such. Whenever I can I order at 20% off at Chicago's HD.
I try to stay away from the dealers as much as possible. The best deal around here is 20% off,and thats only a few times a year, and you have to spend over $1k,cash only.
I have saved so much money dealing with M&M Cycles. They get all my business.Even with shipping, you save alot.
The local dealers here wouldn't give their mother 5% off, much less 20 or 30%. I get from zannotis and still save a bundle even with shipping.

I take it back! There is one local dealer offering 20% off parts and labor if you buy at least $500 in parts and then have them do the work.... Of course, their labor rate is $95 an hour and only "they know" how many hours it will take!(they wanted an hour labor to swap a seat, 5 minutes tops on my bike!)

I hear that. Quoted 3 hours 2 days ago to install Slipon's and Air filter on a new Dyna. No way!
Chicago Harley has a 20% off sale on all accessories until Dec 31. I ordered $1425 of accessories and saved $285.

:)
