Do I need new Pushrod Tubes?

You can still adjust the pushrods with the stock pushrod tubes but it's difficult. I purchased the S.E. pushrods because they came with the new tube sections and clips. They make it very easy to adjust.

Dumb questions but whats the advantage of using adjustable pushrods over stock, if not for the ease of adjustment via the tubes?

And how would you go about adjusting them without the removeable tubes, measure the length of the stock pushrods and make the adjustable pushrods the same length then assemble as you would with one piece pushrods ??

The tubes are collapsible, not removeable when installed. The stock TC tubes are fine for the standard non-adjustable pushrods. However, when installing adjustable pushrods, the tubes that come with the S.E. set, for example, are designed so that they can be lifterd higher to more fully expose the adjustment nuts.

I installed adjustables so that I can more easily remove the cam chest cover and inspect the tensioners, chains and bearings. It also makes it easier to change cams, assuming that you aren't going to remove your heads for porting, etc.

I found out that all you need to do is take a tube cutter and trim off 1/8" from the top of the stock tube. You can see where the "o"ring seals and most have plenty of room. That 1/8" makes life easer. If you dont you still can manage but it takes a little longer because its tight. I used a rubber ban & paper clip to hold the tubes up.
