I know it might sound dumb but I want to dim the blue high beam indicator light. Anyone ever done it? I think the thing has to work for inspection. my eyes are blue sensitive and a blue light source can be quite annoying. I put tape over it sometimes. I haven't gotten into it far enough yet to know if I can switch to a low candlepower bulb but winter is coming and I will.

I believe the indicator has an LED at least on most models, and part of a strip that works the various indicators. I think the answer would be to get the lens off, and dull the inside with a weak felt tip marker. that would reduce the intensity, without eliminationg it completely.

If it is a LED as Harris suggests, then you could put a current limiting resister in series with the LED and reduceits brightness. By experimenting with different resisters you should be able to pick the brightness level that best suits you.
