Daytona Harley Cam Install Quote

1226 Views 14 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  wyodude
Daytona Harley quoted me 7 hours labor, $469 + Tax to install bolt in cams with me supplying ALL the parts. :thumbsdn:

Paul at Psycho Cycles, just north of me in Bunnell, quoted $165, $200 MAX if I didn't have the install kit with gaskets and such.

The Daytona Harley will NEVER see another dime from me unless it's a $5 part that I can't find elsewhere.

So, was this with you buying the cams elsewhere?
Yep I have the chain drive Cams, Time-Saver Pushrods, and the S&S Install Kit sitting in a box in front of me.
Did you ask how much if you bought the cams from them?
He didn't say anything about a dyno tune and I was too busy locking my wallet to ask.

I asked for the labor only fee for installing my bolt in cams and timesaver pushrods with me supplying all the parts.
perhaps I should call back on Monday and ask why 7 hrs for a 4 book hr job.

Don't waste your time....Somebody has to pay for "The Destination." They were just getting you ready to do your little part.
Destination Daytona represents yet another example of "The Pussification of America" in my book.

I'm sure it is a great business decision but it sounds like Harley-Disney to me.

Maybe we'll run into each other there during Bike Week.
:roflback:
Man if i remember right these are the same guys that said head work started at a $1000 for you. Its your cash man but I would move on from these dicks. I would go see Big Al in Crestview. He will do you right on everything you need.

I'm surprised an HD dealership would even consider installing parts you didn't buy from them.

Maybe this is part of the issue, make the labor unreasonably high so you go elsewhere.

You might ask them about that.
