Does anyone have any suggestions on how would be the best way to put a staggered slash cut on some Vance and Hines Longshots. I figure I would need to put them on wrap them with tape and mark them. Has anyone had success cutting chrome pipes with out flaking the chrome or causing premature rust? I have access to about any kind of cutting tool but just don't know which one is best for this application.

Thanks

How about a plasma cutter?? It'll leave a nice precise edge on regular metal, but don't know how it'll work on chromeplate. Anybody out there know?? I'd probably just use a hacksaw, cutting from the most visible angle. First, make sure you're not cutting thru other metal inside that's holding baffles or such. It may show some rust after a while, but not likely unless you're in salt/rain alot . my .02cts.

We used a chop saw at work on a set of drag pipes, It worked real good. We cut stacks for trucks with it all the time too. Doesn't hurt the chrome at all.
