I have aftermarket pipes with removable baffles (Bub 2:2 cones). The problem is that the baffles quiet the bike too much and when they're gone it is absolutely obnoxious. I cannot get different baffles that could solve this problem and now I feel I am left with dealing with the two options or cutting into the baffles them selves. I have heard that you can cut them in half and take care of this concern but was hoping to hear what the forum's take on this idea is. My concern with cutting the baffles is that the pipes are cone shaped and I am wondering if I cut them down, they might rattle. I'm operating under the assumption that the baffles but up against the pipes and that is what keeps them in place. I could be completely off my rocker here and I completely acknowledge that.

Thanks,
Seth

Usually not a good idea to cut the baffles.
I tried it and i just couldnt get the sound i was looking for.
You may want to try the Thundermonster baffle. They are loud also but it does kill a little of the "Obnoxious Factor"=devil=

different baffles?

Interesting. So it is possible to try different baffles? I guess I was under the impression that the fit of a baffle was dependent upon the specific pipe. If I hear you correctly, I can get baffles ffrom a completely different manufacturer? My concern is that my Bub 2:2 cones are not the same shape from one end of the pipe to the next and I am under the impression that a different sized baffle would have a different outer diameter and thus fitting into the pipe differently resulting in a poor fit. Am I thinking too hard?

Thanks
