can the bottom end be removed with the Transmission still bolted in??manual says trans has to be unbolted at back by pivot shaft and removed...isn't there enough room to unbolt crankcase and remove it forward?? complete topend has been removed..

Remove the top end and it will slide past the trans dowels and up and out. Been there, done that and will be doing it again soon.

@greegreegreegreegree: Yes it can--been there--done that also--not a problem--better to have 2 guys lifting the crankcase out one on either side.
