Maybe looking to purchase a H-D 1200 C. Much has changed in the way of emissions, along with computer control modules which I care not for. Unfortunately, everything is being tied into a computerized mainframe which leaves no choice, other than to resurrect an old bike or to purchase before emissions were enacted.
We would believe that the many which purchase Harley Davidson is strictly for the iconic name and symbol Harley represents. There is no other way to view Harley. It is too bad that emission control has overtaken the motorcycle industry as well.
Looking to my question in reference to compression ratio, would not a 10:1 ratio be more high compression than that of the 103 Twin Cam which is 9.6:1? It appears that the mid range in the 103 is where the motor takes advantage.
There are stage kits which are ready to produce more horsepower but the uplift does not look like much for around $2500 or more. The key element in purchasing would be the rumble of the motor (engine) which is highly prized by many. This facet (sound) is more valuable than one can see which would relate to awareness by others driving cars on the highways or roads. We have found that noise can awaken those which are incapable of hearing, seeing, or are under the weather; which many are today.
Did some research, not much regarding how to overcome the slip on mufflers which on a dyno produce the best results combined with all the brainstorms of the crowd. The best or closest is the 90° set point in the muffler which is still not in uniform with the slip on mufflers; "but seems to be the closest".
If any would like to elaborate here, all replies are welcome. Still learning.
