I dropped by the local H-D shop and an independent shop a couple of days ago looking to buy a jet needle from an '88 1200 Sporty to install in my CV carb. Neither of these shops had this part in stock, but the H-D shop ordered some.
What surprised me was that neither had any knowledge about using this jet needle in a CV carb on a TC88! They didn't seem to know about shimming the stock needle with some brass #4 washers either.
I have been a member of this forum for just a few months, but have read about these modifications numerous times. I thought just about everyone knew about this stuff! The guys at these shops give me the "fisheye" when I tell them what I'm trying to do.
Anyone else having similar experiences, or is it just me?
