Whenever someone rides on the back, they invariably rest their shoe on my Vance & Hines Straightshots and leave black rubber markings on the pipes. By the time I notice the vinyl/rubber has hardened. What's the best way to get this crap off without scraping/damaging the chrome? Thanks for the help.

cleaning chromed pipes

Hi:
I had black, grimy, mechanic's fingerprints etched on my Samsom Streetsweepers and used a product called, "Eagle One Original Never Dull Wadding Polish". This stuff worked where other products used had little or no effetc on the chrome. Highly recommended (no affiliation etc.)

Fellow Bikers, your response to my problem with chrome pipes has been greatly appreciated. That's the beauty of this forum and the beauty of being a rider. We have a common thread that brings people together. Again many thanks. Now all I have to do is find the time to try all of the great ideas you gave me.
