Chubby 508 or 518 for Road King?

Hi,

I have a 2001 Road King, am 5' 6" and for Christmas my wife got me the Chubby 518 bars. I presently have Flanders bars that are 2" wider and 2" more pullback than stock. With by vertically challenged stature slow speed turns has me reaching for the bars, but otherwise I find the Flanders more comfortable than stock.

I was looking at the 508's but have read where the wheel barrow effect is pretty strong and am not sure if 2 inches further back and narrower will be comfortable. I have sat on Roadkings with the custom bars and find the wrist position to be somewhat strange, if not something that I would need to get used to.

I matched up the new bars and they seem to be an inch narrower and an inch further back. Another option I have been looking at were the 513, but don't think they will give me the pullback I am looking for.

Any members out there, vertically challenged, and riding with 508s, 518s or 513s?

Suggestions?

Thanks

I'm an inch shorter than you and after trying several different bars on my road king, I went with the 508's. Yes, they have a wheelbarrel feel but they do a very good job and after several months of using them I would not have anything else.

Thanks for your replies. My solution will be to order a set of 508s and send back the set I don't want. Handlebars and seats are probably the hardest pieces to replace.
