If the diaphram was split/cut /cracked...the slide would not rise and you would have like no power at all. with the motor off..pushing the slide up and releasing will always result in some noise as the air exits and re-enters the hole in the bottom of the slide..normal.Dragon_MD said:
most often this is caused by the motor rolling over when shut off...caught just at the top of an intake or exhaust stroke...the piston moves just past TDC in either direction as the motor stops...air is sucked in or forced out past the closed butterfly in the carb and makes your noise.
