I had to remove the ignition switch on my 2006 Ultra Classic, long story short, I mistakenly indexed the switch in the wrong position, now the ignition switch will not go back into place. The 2006 is different from earlier models in that there is a special tool to realign the ignition when this happens. Does anyone know of a means short of the special tool to fix this? I will buy the tool, but in the mean time, I would like to get this thing back together again!
Any help will be apprecoated/

Take a long skinny flat bladed screw driver and a bright flashlight. You can see the tabs in the hole and how they have to line up. You can turn the BOTTOM doo-hicky to get it to align with the top one.
I did this on a friends bike, took me about 1/2 hour to finally figure it out. Once I did, it's a piece of cake.
