I ran mine for awhile, about 1K miles with just the pipes. The plugs looked fine. Local wrench said that unless you open up both ends the rejetting is not necessary.

Any change to the flow should have attention set on the mixture. You could probably get away with it, but best thing to do is check and find out. After getting the pipes on, run it down the street (for a short distance, a second gear pull from idle to redline should do it) at full throttle and then hit the kill switch and pull in the clutch. That way you can see what the mixture is on the main jet.
