If I were able to hit the rev limiter (6200) on my bike (2007 softail) in 5th gear, how fast would I be going?

That was funny.....:hystria: ....I see about 130 mph in 5th gear at 5800 rpm with a 3.15:1 final drive. This isn't for the new final drive on the 07, I haven't really noticed what the mph is at red line on the new bikes but I will take note the next time I have one on the dyno.

Doc,

While racing, as mentioned in my other "M109" thread, we stayed into it for quite a while and at somepoint inthe top of 5th w/ the speedo buried the bike was bucking as if onthe limiter. Think it's possible I was going that fast.
It happened one other time when I held it open for a long stretch before clicking into 6th.

140.7 mph at 6200 in 5th gear for an '07.
That is assuming that the clutch doesn't slip or your back wheel is floating.

Mph

We have had 'em up to the "O" on Davidson on the open road, they do not like that. Maybe it was that particular bike, but the manners it displayed did not make us feel comfortable at all.
It was a 95" Dyna with one of our top end kits. Low teens hp/torque.

calculate wind, weight, clutch slip, etc.

that 140 would be hard to hit, m109 on a dyno (no wind or weight) tops out @ 157 mph with a $40 jsd.

I believe your bike would quit pulling (gaining in speed) before hitting the rev limiter in that gear (wind, parasitic drag, etc). 115 would be a good shift point if you really want to shift. Myself would be shutting down by then (the funnest part being overwith).
