Looking in some aftermarket parts books I see a "cam lock washer". It has two tabs and one side is flat. It is listed for all models from 58 to 99 bigtwins. In my 96 EVO is what whe call a thrust washer but it is round like a cam shim. Can some one enlighten me on the difference and tell me how this "Cam Lock Washer" will fit in my evo.
Thanks

What they're referring to is in your evo. It is the standard thrust washer on the inboard side of the cam. H-D used the one with the ears for years, lol. Had a complaint with the ears rattling on the rubber mounts in the early '90s. You can see where the ears contact the case when the cam is removed. The ears would orient (if installed correctly) the flat area to allow oil to enter the inboard cam bearing. H-D replaced it with the round (no ears or flat area) thrust washer. You can use either, but remember this washer would be used in most all apps. that had it standard, and you would shim cam end play with an additional shim washer.
