I have a 2015 bagger, with 20,000 miles, stock except for S&S lifters. Are the OE cam bearings still lousy and should be replaced?

I have never heard of one going bad on a stock motor since they got rid of the ball bearing set up years ago.

If it was mine, I wouldn't worry about it.

The inner cam bearing on my 2006 delux just failed. Took out oil pump and scored bearing casing . Rolla tear down to repair

Easy to bore case up for the cam bearings to the B168 size. Clean everything and have the crank serviced. Oil pan gets pulled. New lifters and piston oilers. New main bearings.

Mechanic is tearing down to access damage now. Seems to think factory cam bearing was installed backwards .Have you heard of this happening before. Bought bike new!

At this point it doesn't matter. It needs to be accessed and proper work done to restore it. Most importantly everything cleaned which takes a lot of work and this includes the crank disassembled.
