Here's some additional information we posted on our web site this afternoon
regarding CA AB-2700:


In a close vote on California Assembly Bill 2700, the Assembly Transportation
Committee voted 8 to 7 (4 members absent, abstaining or not voting) to pass the
helmet repeal bill. Because at least ten votes (a simple majority) were needed
for passage, the bill failed. However, the committee did approve (by an 18 to 0
vote) a "reconsideration" of the bill, scheduled for April 22, 2002.
