Has anyone heard that buffing the cam chains helps make the tensenors last longer on a TC?

Have been doing it for years. It works, no question about it.
All you need is a bench grinder and a wheel that looks like it is made out of abrasive hard foam.

I can get you the exact 3M part# at the shop after the holiday.

It was of the most benefit on the earlier bikes as they had pretty rough chains sometimes, the very late bikes seem to have them polished to some extent from the factory.

I wish I new about it a least one year ago. I never noticed a problem on my ride , so I guess the 01's where better than the 99's? The 3M wheel I beleve I know what your refering to. Thanks.

The back side that rides on the tensioner pads, to a mirror finish.

Hippo, I was talking to the local shop about this today, could you post the 3M part # for the wheel when you get a chance? Keep posting your great tips! Thanks in advance
