Breaking in

Mike, you are right about all your points.
HD recommends:
1 No hard accelerations for the break in period
2 Keep the speed under 55 for the first 500 miles
3 Vary your speed during the break in period
4 Keep the bike under (some say) 3000 RPMs (others say) 6000 RPMs. My dealer said that it depends on the temperature (i.e. I live in CA and under 6000 RPMs should be fine).

and also when you brake, use only your brakes to slow down your bike for the first 500 miles, no gears...it drives the RPMs up fast.
