Hello All!
I'm Yvan from Switzerland and with one of my friend we will comme and visit you next year for the 100th anniversary of HD. I actually own a bike (FLSTF 2001), but it would be cool if we find two used bike (no matter how they are, as long as we can ride them) for the trip. Thank you if you can help me for the mission!

In a way you might be in luck. Depending on the area of the US next year, even the end of this year, will even be more of a buyers market for 2, 3 and 4 year old bikes then now.

If you plan the trip so as to fly out from an area where demand is still a little higher, you might be able to ride the bike at very little cost. The only problem I can see is the ability to obtain insurance with a foreign license on anything other then a rental bike. It would be crazy to ride here without at least liability insurance.

Have you looked into reserving a rental bike thru HOG fly and ride or any of the other Harley rental places? If you are only going to be here for a couple of weeks it might be a better way. New bike, no service or repair concerns, no insurance problems, etc.
If you reserve the thing now, you might still get one, easy enough to find out.
Hi HIPPO,
As I said in the general talk forum, we plan on staying for a month or so. If we can find a bike in the US, we will bring it back here in Switzerland. Renting a bike for a month is a bit expensive for us!

Take Care and have a lot of fun!:)
If you intend to stay a month and take the bike back home with you, it changes things, as you would no longer have to sell it in a hurry.

If you catch it at the right time and in the right place it should very much be a buyers market for bikes a couple of years old, at the end of this year or going into next winter. The market for bikes varies enormously, and the typical entry locations for a foreign visitor, like for example CA or FL, always have had high bike prices.
If you have family or close friends you can trust over here you should have them looking for the bikes.
If you wait until you get here you might have to act in a hurry just when everyone and their dog will be looking for something to ride.
Thanks for the help, but I don't know anyone in the US.
What I need is to find a place where I can look at bikes and maybe reserve one or whatever. I'm not in a hurry, since it's for next year. That's why I'm already looking for something and try to meet some persons that can help me out.
