Best exhaust for 124ci Gen A EVO

Hey hey boys! So i'm chasing my tail trying to get the right exhaust set up for a 95 FLSTC w/124 ci S&S. I called Bassani yesterday and they said the Road Rage and other 2-1's they offer would not be the right choice, pipes too small. Ive looked at all the other "box" systems, and their all about the same size, so whats the right setup? Im looking now at some custom stuff, Graffeo, RB Racing, but they all have cool looking stuff with little data. What works?

You mean build it? I wish I had the tig skills
You are going to get a bunch of really ridiculous answers here. Like the poster above that said to get a 'Burns System'. Either didnt read your post or does not know the burns product line does not include a pipe for your platform.

I suggest you look in the dyno section of this forum for stuff close to what you have. The dyno section on this page is somewhat limited, other forums have much more depth and width in their dyno sections.
Sorry Man i did not know Burns did not do a pipe for your bike.

Stepped 2.0", 2.125" then end with 2.250.. a reverse core/cone muffler,, with r" final diameter, with a 2.75-3" inlet...
The problem with large high rpm is, you will not feel the losses until you are doing a long pull at rpm's starting at around 4200, through redline of 6500'7000rpm in 4th and higher gears.. the muffler doesn't really.tame help or hurt performance, it does quiet the engine down though...
Thanks boys..

@tall terry, sounds like a good reason to break out the tig and make something work. I can grab a kit of stainless, thanks for the data on the pipe sizes.....

What you do? Take the correspondence course? All that in less than a week.

I'm a tech engineer by trade, geek, but the minute i get home its all about mechanical engineering. Over the years I've built a dozen cars, trucks, all ground up, no outsourcing. Old school stuff, big piston power.. Bunch of 409's, have them in things like a 62 impala to a 66 c-10, stroked stuff. British stuff, big healys, and once I ran out of space went to bikes. So knuckles, to now more modern baggers.. The evo here i just put in the 124 and baker 6 speed, but the stock exhaust options for this old girl are not so great, so if i need to make one, ill do it...

FWIW I have the high HP bassanni road rage in stainless on this fxr. When the 124 was in a softail chassis I had the bassani road rage 3…that was also designed for high hp motors.

you can get great options from lots of vendors…my recommendation, that wasn’t asked for, is to spend some coin on an Afr gauge after you pick your pipe…this way you know where you’re starting from and where to tune. I ended up with a Thunderjet and used baseline settings from this site and dialed it in.

Our builds are similar - v124 and baker od6 internals.

I have the Afr gauge from RB racing but there are several out there to even the Amazon ones that you can put in a cup and temp mount.

Bitchin bike btw…!

What? Why would you ask this question in a thread about exhaust pipes for big motors?

Maybe someone knows where a good parts store is.

Maybe someone knows where a good parts store is.

There are probably hundreds of members here that know here good parts stores are, but that is irrelevant. The question is why would you ask this question in a section of this forum specifically designated for touring bikes and in a thread that is discussing exhaust pipes for large displacement engines?

Try this, go to the main page of this forum, look at the various sections, maybe do a search. If your search comes up blank, start a new thread in the appropriate section. Maybe even title it something like 'Parts stores for Sportsters'. Will probably be a bit more effective.
